Im back..
IM FINALLY BACK!!
First time away from home for
sooooooooooo long. 9 days flight is serious no joke!! Wonder how can I tolerate 10 days to SEL-YVR or DXB-DME in future.
Gosh~Flight wasnt as smooth as what it seemed to be.
On my way up to Frankfurt, an old lady seated in the eonomy class, passed out because of heart attack. At the busiest moment, after the captain's announcement, followed by the headset announcement. Endless help and medical assistance were rendered to the poor lady, who had difficulty breathing. Luckily there was a doctor on board. Together with the crew, we helped to help her fight for her last breath. Even at the expense of crew not taking the seat during landing. CPR performed. AED used. They did their best to save her till the ground staff medical assistance came on board. But everything was too late. Just a little too late. It was rather sad for the husband, who was on his way to Berlin to visit his sister. According to the paramedic, the old lady had a deep and long bypass scar at her chest. And we only realised at the last minute that, the old lady didnt sleep for the past 24 hours or so, since their transit flight from Brisbane. And all these informations were not released from the husband. Which sets me thinking. How can a 71 year old lady take the fatigue from taking a 12.40 hours flight prior to the 7 hours flight from Brisbane and 2 hours transit time in Singapore? How can her body take it??
The saddest case was the unfriendly attitude shown by the Frankfurt ground staff. They were so bloody task-oriented that they forgotten there was a medical case on board. 1 only simply care for her MAAS pax, while another only care for the remainder passengers to disembark asap, to catch their next transit flight and close shop for the day. I was so angry that I got into an arguement with them after one of them made an announcement to clear passengers through door 2L.
Me: "Huh!! Where are the medical assistance? Dont you know that we have a medical case on board and its an emergency?!"
Ground Staff (GS): "I dont know. They SHLD be on their way..."
Me: "If you allow pax to disembark now, how are the medical assistance going to attend the old lady within the shortest period of time??"
GS: "But the aircraft is already late. Are you going to hold responsible if pax didnt manage to catch their next transit flight on time??"
ANGRY ANGRY!!
Where has all the kind-hearted humaritian saints gone to?? People nowadays are so focused in their work that they actually forgotten about all these. Haiz. So depressing. My condolensces to the family. First time that such things happened on my flight. I feel so sad for the husband....
Having to do a 9 days Frankfurt-New York is no fun at all. Imagine you have to meet 45 different crew, shaked hands and introduced yourself 45 times, have the lousiest work positions, fly a longer pattern than others but earn lesser than a 8 days pattern crew! Worst of all, nobody ask you out for meal or shopping because you are a joiner crew. Your buddy will be your Chief who fly with you throughout that 9 days, but you seldom see him/her because most of the time, he/she will be at the executive lounge. -_-"
Luckily I had Lyna and Lian's company in New York. Shopping and makan together fo 3 days, if not I would have bored to death!!
I swear I would give away this pattern if Im ever rostered again!!
Im so glad that Im finally back home, with my comfy bed waiting for me.
Enough of vongole spagehtti, crispy duck rice, bagel and Mcdonalds. The sight of pasta is making me puke.
Bleah~I miss the local food, especially my bah chok mee!! And my fish head beehoon from Maxwell Market.
Going to shower now before I head for the bed.
Good night peeps! Or rather good morning?
(My sleeping timing is all screwed up. Damned!!)
